What this article is mainly about is the way the author will write an essay or an article and to whom he is directing it to. The more experienced writers will go and write and try to suit the reader and they don’t even take their own consideration into it; and the least experienced will go off and just write what they feel and they make it too about them self’s witch will end up bad for the readers. It is also very difficult for writers to write for a group of people because this there are several different types of audiences and many time the writers will take their opinion into the writing. There is three types of audiences its inviting, enabling and inhibiting; each with their own opinion on an article. You see fir inviting and enabling what the author dose is he will try to make his writing a little more structured and better use of words; and for the inhibiting and for the inhibiting they try to use strong words to keep the readers into the story. This type of audiences is the reason that the authors will choose on who their writing is trying to reach.

Elbow argues that an audience is a field of force. What do you understand about this? Have you ever experienced inviting/enabling audiences or inhibiting ones for your writing? Can you explain how it felt?

You see I think that there is a force that cans ether helps of kill the writers writing. The audience is what the judge of writing is and for the most part they are the one who will end up critic in the paper. And that is what most of the writers fear. They fear that people will misjudge there paper of simply not understand it. I understand that this can help of kill the paper. I have never experienced any type of audiences for my writing because I have never written for a large mass of people, but I have spoken in front of my class and I see that I could relate what I felt when I was giving my speech to this situation. You see I was in my speech class and I guess I gave a boring speech and everyone was falling asleep and I felt I didn’t achieve what I was trying to say. The way I felt was horrible I just wanted to get off the podium and just sit down.

Summary

This article is about how students can check each other’s work. It suggests different types of way some of which involves group checking. While many teachers have had problems trying to get the students to learn from their own mistakes they decided that maybe they could learn from their pears mistakes. They would all sit down and talk about how each other’s papers had or what they lacked on. But the only way this will work if each student participates in the group discussion. Some students may take this as a good advice and others will take it personal but this is for their own good. When leaving comments on each other’s papers they must leave a full detailed comment so the writer can comprehend what the commentator is saying. It must say what he had well and what he needed work on, and things that he could add to make it sound better. Also they can have a group of people read the same paper and discuss aloud what each of them has understood form that paper. It also talks about how to revise the work write it review it and then to re-write the whole thing.

Question: in general, which parts do you like about this writing?

You see I like the fact that we get to learn from all this I feel that this is a great way to learn but I am the type of person that am real hesitant on letting people read what I write. But I now know that this will just make me a better writer. I think that all this are good steps into making me a better writer. Being in a group is probably the thing that makes this whole process work because this gives off several opinions on that one paper and some comments will be good and other won’t be. I also think that checking the others papers will help me relies myself the mistakes I do in my writing; so the next time I write a paper I won’t make the same mistake the writer did. I would also like to add that all this will help on grammar errors. And this is an area I need a lot of help in.

Ann which was a writing teacher taking the class in which the investigation was done found out the there was a pattern to her writing. She said she used recursiveness this is what I would like to call “go with the Flow”, you see writing is said to have a Basic Pattern, Plan, write, and revise this is what recursiveness that Ann noticed in her writing. The reason that writers will go back and look things over is to recollect their thoughts and to see what they are going to write next. This is what is called felt sense. Felt sense is part of Retrospective Structure. Sometimes with felt sense what happens is the author will lose the topic or he will lose the felling. And when this happens you will have to go back and recollected your thoughts to try to get your point across; when recollecting you will find yourself trying to change words in your writing or deleting things to fit in. Projective structuring this is when the author will stick to the topic and just writes and not here what his felt sense is telling him. They see their writing as if they were the reader.

1. The Author describes recursiveness as “a forward-moving action that exists by virtue of a backward- moving action. To what do writers move back? What is being repeated? Name some recursive elements.

Response

Well the backward moving action has to move back and check what the author is trying to say. If he or she has captured the topic. When having to check and make sure about answering the topic you are going to go back and check. The object that is being repeated is the proses of checking and understanding. Some recursive elements are using word to come back to the topic r to use or to re-read what they have written, and some authors will change what they have written to match the topic
