Revision Strategies of Student Writers and Experienced Adult Writers

This article made many of my doubts vanish away,it gave me a clear and comprehensive way of understanding why there can be so much differences between a student article or comment, and an adult writer also article or comment. I understood in the Nancy sommers article that one of the most common reason about the non similarity way of talking thru paper is the need of experience, the years and years that it took the master adult writer to where he is, to the intensity and knowledge that this person may have. Giving an advice or a comment in other words is not only telling the writer "oh yes good essay", or " try to express yourself better", no giving an opinion may do so much for the writer but also it can just pass as being nothing and you tell me ... who wants to be just ignored?. One of the representatives is Gordon Rohman, he suggested that the composing process moves form prewriting to writing to rewriting, in the other hand James Britton's model of the writing process as a series of stages described in metaphors of linear growth conception, incubation, production. This both examples of how writing becomes such a different when it is presented by a student with little knowledge about what a writing should be. Since the process of revision is understood as a separate stage at the end of the process,which comes after the completion of a first or a second draft and one that is temporally distinct from the prewriting and the writings stages of the process.

Q:
The author gives us many examples and representatives of why and how can the revision strategies of student writers and the experienced adult writers, but how do we really as the reader understand the causes ?

R:
Nancy Sommers gave the writing many aspects and examples of the various causes that make the writing to different it gave me the idea that yes, students may have the ability but its not only that , that is being needed or asked for but the experience that most of the adult writers have. Time gave them the opportunity to deal with all kind of different writings and so they have given an average of revision comments.

  2. from my humble point of view, you gave too much of your point of wiew in your SQR, you have to give more examples and details about the writers difereences also, if the person just reads your SQR with out reading the whole article may get confuse whit your question
