UNDERSTANDING COMPOSING In 1979 Anne who was a teacher at that time. She was given an assignment of composing, writing something and the topic was “My Most Anxious Moment as a Writer.” she tells us at the beginning that one of the purposes of the assignment was to provide teachers with an opportunity to see their own composing processes at work. This means that Anne as a teacher needs to be learning about something new everyday not just because she is a teacher it means she is doing everything perfect. Anne also said that she notice on her analysis a certain basic patterns. Recursive is a problem we college students have; we fall in many repetitions just to fill the whole paper. She says that many people make the repetitions obvious and that many other are smart enough to hide they repetition under and interesting theme. She also mentions the projective structuring which is a way of saying how to structure a composition in a neat and understandable way for others to read. Many writers get confused and ask themselves this question “Is what I’m writing correct?” or if involves the topic they are talking about? Several times we as writers and students get this confusion and we ask these same questions to ourselves. The article not only talks about projective structuring but also talks about retrospective structuring. It is just a fancy way to say, that we need to go back and check the things we need in our writings, things we left out, we work we things we already wrote to fill out some places and give better explanation.
Question: What is “felt sense” for me? Response: Felt sense for me is the feeling you get about the topic your assign. For example if I had to write about soccer composition of course I’m going to get the feeling of provide interesting information and get the main points really clear. It just gives me the felt sense of anxiety to provide with interesting about soccer. But if I’m ask to write an essay for a science or history class it will make me feel different not has excited and to be honest it will make me feel bored.

Another feature of the composing process is projective structuring when writing what they think others want them to write rather than writing what they want to write.Everyone thinks different so the writing is different. Question: The author describes recursiveness as “a forward-moving action that exists by virtue of a backward-moving action". To what do writers move back? What is being repeated? Response: The writer may move back to revise their writing and to organize their thoughts. The process of going back and rereading what is already written down keeps being repeated till the end of your writing.
