Student’s responses are too typical, middle school kids are making vague comments towards their peer group’s papers. A study was done to show how we could teach them how to better understand how to give proper comments and creative criticism, its formally known as Praise Question Polish it’s a process that involves a number of different steps. The first is the total class activity; four samples were used and discussed as a class to see what ideas they come up with together. Next is the small group activity, it involves placing the kids in a group and go over the group responses, and describe which responses could be used, and which didn’t make any addition to the subject. Last but not least is the Individual work, which is the final activity to teach how they should respond to certain aspects of someone’s paper, and how to make a comment that would benefit the writer. Students responses after the study showed great improvement, not only did the students learned to revise, but also be able to comment on each other’s writing with a more suitable answers. With this effective way of teaching students can help each other write more suitable essays.
What are the revision strategies of experience found in Sommers studies?
The revision strategies used are described as reading over and improving the point your trying to make. The writer puts themselves in the reader’s shoes and tries to write from that view.
