SQR 2: “Peer Response: Teaching Specific Revision Suggestions”

Peer response is someone’s comments on ones writing it is suppose to be helpful but at times is not. There is an organizational technique that is done in groups called PQP (Praise-Question-Polish) it helps students focus and maintain a positive attitude toward commenting ones writing. The three types of categorized responses are vague giving no specific direction for revision, another is general, but useful it its general but gives only some direction for revision and specific which gives specific direction for revision. These responses depend on what kind of comment you give as the reader. The best way to respond though is with a specific comment so it can help the writer revise his/her paper the best way they can. Peer response sessions can take place by class activities, small-group activities, and individual work. These are ways to improve your comments if you do not give specific comments try to so you can help others and others can help you. Helping one another is useful it will allow your writing to become better and interesting for others to read.

Question: What type of response do you refer yourself to?

Response: At this point my comments are general, but useful but I would like to start giving specific comments so I can help the writer the best way I can. Becoming a specific commenter is a good thing and those are the kind of comments I want on my writing paper so I can get the most help I can to make my writing better in any way I possible.
